Student council elections

Mon 30 Jul - 20:46 by Matthew Williams

EDIT: Congratulation to Alfred for becoming president!

Every student willing to run for the Student council elections will have to give a small speech on their motivation; They also will have a week to convince people to vote for them.
The winner of the elections will become president, while the second best will assist him as vice president.
You may run for the treasurer and secretary post separately.

((post your "speech" here and rp out your promotion! people who didn't post said IC speech will not be considered as running up for a post. You will be asked to vote IC for who you think your character would vote for on Sunday. Teachers can't vote.))

School's rules

Tue 12 Jun - 14:12 by Admin

Following are our school's rules; we expect all students to follow them. Going against them will cause an immediate sanction. Severe offenses may result in expulsions.

1) Uniforms are mandatory on school's grounds. While we do allow students to alter them in some ways, we do ask of them they keep it close to the original. Skirts have to fall at least mid-thighs.

2)Violence is not allowed in any cases. Verbal violence, bullying, or fights will not be tolerated and will be faced with severe punishments.

3) Alcohol, weapons or drugs are not allowed on school grounds. This includes personal multi function knives or cigarettes.

4) Teachers will check the dorms after the curfew; past 10PM everyone is meant to be in their respective rooms, sleeping.

5) Male students aren't allowed in the girl's dorms, Female students aren't allowed in the boy's dorms.

6)Respect your teachers and environment. Mocking a teacher or littering will be punished.

7) Students are allowed to go in town, but not out of it. Please act like responsible people and stay out of trouble there.

8) Skipping classes is forbidden. You may miss classes if you get a note from the infirmary.

9) Students are not allowed in the teacher's lounge; they also have to ask permission before using any classroom out of class times.

((Those rules are the school's rule, IC; of course you're allowed to not follow them but know it will have consequences IC too. If a student really earns themselves an expulsion, since we don't want to kick rper out for that, we will find a way to come back or stay, don't worry!))

Name: Ivan Braginsky
Country representing: Russian Federation
Age: 17
Student or teacher? Student
Personality (mostly to see your characterization):
(Sorry for the massive personality description. I had a lot I wanted to say... hehe...)
Ivan is regarded as the sort of "creepy teddy bear" of the school. A large, six-foot-tall, and rather big-boned person, people often take him to be intimidating, which is often reinforced by his tendency of coming off as a little crooked, saying rather offhanded comments that end up sounding quite sarcastic or sadistic, while really Ivan doesn't mean them quite the way they come off, as his social skills are not very polished (and he never seems to realize an awkward situation). A relatively introverted person, he likes to spend time with minimal amount of people and doesn't quite like venturing into large crowds at all, but if the weather's nice, one will often see him outside tending his garden, which has some of the largest sunflowers one might have seen. He came to the school to make friends, though, and try to get a new start on his life.

In spite of his relatively young age, he has already seen a fair share of trauma and horrors, having grown up on the poor end of society in the decidedly colder areas of Russia, which, along with a near-death incident in the snow when he was younger, left him with a strong dislike of the cold. He is infamous for the liquor he has, as he somehow manages to get large quantities of none but vodka or, if you're willing to ask nicely (and certainly give him something in return) he may be willing to procure some liquor for you for a price. This practice has led to him becoming a trafficker, or in nicer terms, main supplier, of liquor to the underage population, something quite frowned down upon by many, but Ivan himself sees no problem in it (especially if it gets a few more bucks on the table). Ivan himself is equally as infamous for the vodka which he drinks, often in what looks like coffee canteens (which he uses more often at school, to the peaceful oblivion of the teachers) or label-less bottles, although arguably, none have seen him thoroughly drunk. Not that he doesn't ever get drunk, he certainly does, but none have ever witnessed him in such a state.

He usually wears a heavy overcoat over his school clothes, his favourite being a tan coat styled after the Red Army uniforms in Russia, although when he's gardening or playing hockey he usually will consent to change into alternative attire, given that he doesn't have to remove his scarf. He is constantly wearing said scarf in spite of the activity or temperature, and has an odd affinity for plumbing (and not always fixing it, although he is quite capable of general repairs), to the extent of disbanding water faucets in order to stow them in his pockets.

When he is upset, he will often mutter in Russian under his breath, sometimes saying a quick "kolkolkol," which in Russian is used for the tolling of a bell. Ivan uses this in the same way that an American English-speaker might use the slang "strike three" or "wrong move," meaning roughly that someone's just made one too many mistakes for his likes.

Roleplay sample (minimum 200 words):
Ivan slid his lunch to the far end of a table, sitting down contentedly and looking around with a smile. He plucked at his food, more focused on observing the other students than consuming it; a particular brown-haired boy had caught his eye. He smiled, trying to catch the other's attention, but didn't accomplish much except knocking his drink over trying to wave. After just watching for a moment, he finally picked up his knife and began to slice his potatoes, chancing another glance up at the boy to see if he had looked up. Wave! Say hello! his mind told him. You're here to make friends! Ivan gave the boy what he considered his best smile, raising his hand in greeting (without putting down the knife) before lowering it, satisfied at the exchange (one-sided or not he didn't know, as he didn't think to look back up) and continued to cut up his food. Attention shifting back to the morsels of food lying on his plate, he entertained the thought of informing the school cooks of some other foods, perhaps ones with more taste... like his pirozhki!... although he wasn't sure if the cooks knew how to prepare it. Ivan himself only knew how to make one at a time, as he'd never had to cook for more than himself. Ah well, he thought to himself as he munched on a slice of the potato.

His mind returned to when he had first learned how to cook the aforementioned food; he smiled at the memory. Good times, good times... but alas, he reminded himself, I can't focus on the past. With that thought, he reached swiftly into his bag, retrieving a large canteen, pushing the lid back and taking several quick swallows. He dared another glance up at the boy, but was disappointed as the boy had gone back to eating his food. Hm... he did have that English assignment to work on though, and his English skills still could use some work. He suppressed a groan. As great as the school was, and as lucky as he was to get in here, the English-learning was still a pain. He'd have to see if there was someone who could give him some extra tips- did anyone here speak Russian? No, matters for another time, he mused as he pulled out his papers and set to work.
(I hope this is satisfactory, and I hope I'm posting this in the correct place. Thanks!)

I think the admins will be fine with it so... I'd say you're accepted, go make an account?
And it's fine to have a long character description, a least you put work into it <3
(and I didn't check the word account but it looks longer than 200 words...)

400 words exactly, by the by.
I forgot to include a picture, but as it is, I don't think it's required, is it...?

No, pictures aren't required usually, it's way better for an OC though so xD but... It's not like Russia was an unknown character so yeah here it wasn't mandatory.
(and see I'm so good at judging how long an app is >D it was more than 200 xD)
