Personality:
Arthur Kirkland has never been known for his winning personality. Short tempered, blunt, and a bit holier than thou, he can occaisionally come off as slightly unpleasant. This is very much unintentional, as Arthur does truly wish to make friends. Putting on a cold front however had always been a good safety though, for anyone who truly cared enough to befriend him would break through his barriers, right? That had always been his logic. Plus, some people could just be REALLY annoying.

However, that is not to say he is an irritable stick in the mud. If one manages to get past the hard shell he puts up, they'd be surprised to find a rather rebellious, adventerous boy beneath the surface. Arthur has always been quite competent at getting himself into reckless trouble outside of school, due to his hotheaded and impulsive nature. Inside of school on the other hand, he tries to maintain a serious air about him, aiming to become the Student Council President one day. His success with this persona varies depending on his mood and who he's with. He's generally intelligent and hardworking, albeit a bit of a prankster only if he feels he can get someone else to shoulder the blame.

Secretly, he's very much in to magic and the occult, hoping to start a magic club within the school. Other interests include literature, painting, and embroidery.

Arthur is a bit of a romantic at heart, and beneath his cynical and jaded exterior, hopes that one day he'll get his own fairytale ending.

Roleplay Sample:
In retrospect, Arthur supposed it was no surprise he had been sent off for boarding school.

So maybe the smokebomb in the locker room had been a bit much, it's not like it was his idea! He was just going along with things, he should hardly be taking the fall. And yet, here he was, staring up at the famed Neo World Academy W.

Actually, he didn't quite know how famous it was. All he knew was that his parents were paying a lot of money to send him there, and that students from all over the world attended. He was there from the UK, his folks had certainly gone through pains to get him out of their hair, a whole Atlantic ocean of them.

No matter though, he would hardly let it bring him down. Straightening his bag, he marched into the school, with the air of a veteran returning to war. Just more annoying people to deal with, they would inevitably be no different than the kids at any of the other schools he attended.

He paused to check his schedule. He was a second year and begun with French at 9:00 am, as it was a Tuesday. Brilliant, two and a half hours of Froggy gibberish, just what he needed.

With a sigh, he shoved his schedule into his bag. At least he had a free period following.

Pushing through crowds of obnoxious students cluttering the hallway, he narrowly made it to class before the bell rang. The students turned to stare at him, oh look, a new face. He noticed a few girls in the back giggling, pointing at his eyebrows, which easily soured his expression.

Straightening his tie, he introduced himself, per the teacher's request.

"Hello, I am Arthur Kirkland. Pleased to make your acquaintance."

How do you feel about your character?
Fairly good, I've roleplayed as Arthur for about a year, albeit a different version. I have been roleplaying script mainly, however literary roleplaying seems like a fun challenge, which I hope to be up to. I'll revise my character in any way you find necessary, I hope the basic personality was acceptable. Thank you for taking the time to read through this.
